Editor’s Note for How to Leverage Introversion as a Career Strength.
Larry’s article is part of the personal development section of Medium Membership. I’m the editor for that section and write these little notes to share my enthusiasm for the author and put the article into a bigger context.
This article is for introverts who want to be leaders. The advice is great. The explanations are great. You’ll be a better leader if you read this article.
I gave the green light to this article for a different reason — which is that I see the business world as having a major conflict between hubris and competence (i.e. I have an agenda as an editor).
We wish competence would win easily — but the truth is that the world is designed for hubris. Un-earned aggression wins ground while the competent are composing their thoughts.
(You might be thinking about politics right now too, which is fair, but I’m just talking about business.)
Introversion comes with many strengths that support competent leadership. However, these strengths are often ignored by traditional leadership advice.
That’s why I thought this article was so good and so important. If you are a competent introvert, then you should be a leader and I want to publish articles that help you.
