Generally, I don’t think kids get Basic Income — so procreation isn’t an income strategy.

I would challenge the “don’t deserve or earn” statement. Who owns this country? Some private parts of the country have private owners. But what about the public parts? The government owns them. And who owns the government? The people.

This country has enormous resources and generates enormous wealth. The businesses that operate here (including mine) make money by taking advantage of these resources which we neither deserve nor earned.

For example, my business makes money by selling services to people who are already pretty well off — they have jobs, disposable income, have been well-educated. My business did nothing to deserve or earn the existence of these customers.

At core, that’s why I think taxes are fare. They’re a balance that rewards me for taking initiative but also acknowledge that I’m operating in an existing infrastructure.

So, it’s not exactly that a person won’t have deserved or earned a basic income. What I wanted to call out is that none of us deserve or earned practically anything we have: peace, roads, water, electricity, education, culture, community.
