Hi James, Dustin S. reached out to me on your behalf and we tried to apply a gift membership and then it all got a bit fubared because you already had an active membership. Sounds like that won't matter now. I'm not saying this to argue... just to put out my view: the subscription is doing good here for the benefit of accessibility. That text-to-speech feature costs us ongoing money to provide and so the subscription is what makes it possible. It's in a different category of accessibility affordances than how we design the site (those affordances should be free).
