Hi Libby, yes, we're always working to reduce spam. You see what we miss and there is more in the works for that. I was sharing how much more we caught than we used to.

Regarding an apology. I'm sorry if that happened unjustly. Usually there is some deeper history there involving you and our trust&safety team and I don't dig that up to post it publicly. We do make mistakes though and if you were caught by one (or two) then I'm sorry.

Regarding Twitter. I have never discouraged anyone from sharing on Twitter, let alone belittled them. I was giving an update on Internet trends.

Regarding the boost, we are the stewards of our subscriber's time and money. We do our best and our results say that our best is consistently getting better. I think where we have fallen down is setting expectations with nominators like you where you are defending whether a piece you've nominated is good or not. We trust you, they're all good. But that's not the same as meeting a bar for showing it to readers who haven't already asked to follow your pub. That is a much more complicated decision and not one that should be treated as a rejection of your pride in yourself or your writers.
