I don't think partisanship is a useful way to judge the value of stories here.

For one, the vast majority of what is written here is personal story and professional knowledge. Neither make sense to view in a partisan way.

To make that specific, I was in a great conversation with a group of software engineers about why view counts on Twitter aren't accurate and one of them linked to an article about algorithms for distributed counting, a technique called Positive Negative Counters. Where are the politics in that article? No where. That article is such a niche topic, but Medium is filled with niche expert articles like that one.

Then second, as a platform we can have values that are disconnected from partisanship. I'd say that these values exist first and that it's then political parties that align to be closer or farther away from them. So if something looks partisan, that's the fault of the parties, not of ours. We are a private company and we can build around whatever value system we want. That's a strength of American capitalism.

In practice, the things we are accused of being partisan on really just come down to having a value system that is anti-hate and pro-science. You, as a member of the market, can then pick and choose what you want to read here. The vast majority of people don't read anything political at all. Then there are two other smaller groups. One that comes here because of our values. And another that won't come here because of those values. That's the market at work.
