It's not easy to define and it's different by topic and by reader. But directionally, it's absolutely not true for writers to say that Medium is making money by them writing a lot. All we do is go around talking about raising the bar on quality and yet people are really locked into this quantity game. Other than when it's fun or when it works a person's writing muscle, it's a dead end and isn't what any of the Medium incentives are for. And that's true everywhere.
