I've been using this Top 500 List as a conversation starter all winter and I'm pretty sure the original inspiration came from your Threads about it.
Basically, "I'm making my own version of the Rolling Stones 500 list and am looking for recommendations. What albums would you put on your list?"
What's cool about this is that it immediately gets people reminiscing. Having a list this long removes any sense of scarcity so any album that people love definitely has room in their list. But making it about albums rather than songs keeps the bar high.
If we can, we'll end up listening to music on the spot. But if not, I've been adding a lot of people's recommendations to my own "listen later" list.
Regardless of whether I end up liking people's recommendations, I end up learning a lot about them.
