I've learned plenty from poetry and also used it to teach. Likewise, I've learned plenty from fiction. These short hands are always imperfect. Even smarter isn't exactly what we mean because it begs the question, why does that matter? When we try to answer it as a company we tend to get to some version of upleveling. It's no accident that I ran a publication called Better Humans. This is site is at it's best when it's constructive. There's plenty of room on here for poets, fiction and personal musings.
