I’m thinking about humility this morning.
ESPN: Best in the world, you’re not going to be humble.
Thompson: Yeah, yeah. You didn’t get here being humble. That’s for dang sure.
ESPN: Steph’s not humble.
Thompson: Look at the way he plays. Is that humble?
ESPN: No, no.
Thompson: No humble man can take those shots.
Trump level arrogance kills me because I know it kills collaboration, which in turn kills high performance within a team.
Steph Curry and the Warriors are the epitome of why you don’t want Trumps in the mix. They lost players and even coaches for long stretches and kept chugging. They set a record for most victories in a season. They are the defending NBA champions.
If you watch their quotes they go out of their way to give each other credit.
If you watch their actions, they go out of their way to make room for their teammates to shine.
They go nuts on the bench to celebrate their teammates. Curry included.
Last night Curry came back from injury and set a record for most points scored in an overtime period. He took and made tough shots.
Can a humble man take those shots? Can that man also be a great teammate?
