Referred memberships is huge. As a partner on the publication side and as an author, I've been so hungry for this change in incentives. I know that I personally have access to a huge external audience that we weren't getting rewarded for. But more importantly I see the partnership here at Medium as signing up to be in a bundle of other writers.

It's not just me and Medium in partnership, it's me and every other publication and author here. So it's so great to see Medium creating incentives for other partners to grow the pie for the rest of us. Every time another author refers in a member we all benefit.
