Rene, this is such a surprising response given your interests. Policies as described in this post elevate topics like data science, AI, and zettelkasten in two ways.
One is that they make room for more authors and readers who care about those topics. The hate toward minority groups that permeates other platforms (it's still here, just in a smaller dose) chases away authors. It's not a good trade to hear rehashed racist or homophobic ideas at the expanse of every other topic.
The second is that divisive culture war topics take up a lot of oxygen.
We moved past that in a way that seems pretty pedestrian to us. Just saying we love gays and that's not up for debate means there is more room for a topic like Roam vs. Obsidian. A lot of people will call us political, but I think it's obvious that the outcome of our anti-hate policies is that there is room for a lot more non-political speech like Obsidian best practices. And I'm not just saying that to humor you, I subscribe to that tag and use Obsidian daily.
