This seems like the opposite of my statements. For example, here's a recent statement from me:

"Before I get into this, I think it’s worth saying: write what you want to write. I saw a blog post the other day titled, “What does Tony want you to write?” and it was totally misguided. We want to reward you for writing your best stuff, but only you know what that is."

I generally go out of my way to answer any question about what topics are most successful with some version of the above. The two topics you mention aren't even the biggest topics here. But more importantly, one of them sounds like a topic you don't care about and actually have disdain for. Why would anyone want to pay for that? We certainly don't think there's a business paying you to write about topics you don't care about.
